Religion gave us community.
It expanded the concept of family and bound us together by shared beliefs.
But over time, faith hardened into dogma, and social bonds constricted more than they connected.
Masculine structure strangled the feminine and disconnected us both from the Earth and from our own bodies.
Many of us rejected religion.
Some abandoned higher meaning altogether; others stepped into a ‘New Age’ of non-religious spirituality.
Spirituality gave us freedom, diversity, and personal growth.
It helped us find the sacred within ourselves, for ourselves.
But somewhere along the way, we lost something important.
Community fell apart into isolation; Freedom became rootlessness.
Yoga Church exists to reconnect what belongs together.
From traditional religion – or Church – we embrace:
Community, shared meaning, ritual as sacred structure
But we reject:
Dogma, rigid hierarchy, suppression of soul, body and the feminine principle
From modern spirituality– or Yoga – we uphold:
Personal freedom, body wisdom, cross-pollination of paths.
But we let go of:
Fragmentation, spiritual consumerism, the cult of the isolated self.
We are not swinging back into the past. Nor are we drifting into formlessness.
we are forging a third way.

Our Three Pillars

MIND
BODY
Heart

These are not abstract principles, they are the living architecture of the human being.
Our path is practice. Our language is love. Our core is community.

Mind is how we interpret reality. When distorted, it creates illusion, but in its pure form, it is the ground of reality itself.
The Ego Mind mistakes thought for truth. It weaves beliefs into a mask that we wear so long we mistake it for skin. When we believe its stories and projections, we each live in our own personal pocket universe: each skewed and distorted in its own way, and each one separated from each other – from reality itself.
Yet we only need to take off the mask to find the Higher Mind: pure awareness. God the Father. Nirvana. The True Self. All we have to do is drop the struggle to maintain the illusion of control. From there, the ego becomes a sacred tool: the dance of consciousness within form, and form within consciousness: a dance of love without separation.
From every corner of the Earth, wisdom keepers have pointed to the same truth: the awakening to our True Self. We are here to help make it accessible to all of humanity.

In Yoga Church, we express and honour Mind by:

  • Offering spiritual practices for personal empowerment
  • Creating a non-dogmatic platform for dialogue between traditions
  • Guiding others to the realisation of their own inherent divinity
The Body is the temple of the divine – our most intimate connection to Earth, to Life and to each other.
Patriarchal religion has considered the body to be inherently sinful, something to escape.

In Yoga Church, we seek to heal the wound left by millennia of body-denial and reclaim the sacredness of the feminine. We do not seek to transcend the body, but to embody the transcendent: to be fully alive in a healthy body, one with the living Earth.

Through embodiment, we are reconnected with our own Life Force, called by many names: Kundalini, Shakti, God the Mother, or the Holy Spirit. She may be asleep in most of us, but she is much more than a myth. She is intelligent, electromagnetic energy. She is healing, power and joy. To awaken her safely, we must return to the wisdom of embodiment. We must reclaim the innocence of our inner child as well as the instinct of our inner animal.

The Divine Feminine does not rise above; she rises through: through body, breath, movement and touch – we return to wholeness.

In Yoga Church, we express and honour Body by:

  • Integrating and healing all aspects of ourselves — child, animal, human, divine.
  • Fostering practices that awaken and stabilise life force.
  • Restoring our connection to Mother Earth as a sacred relationship, not a resource.
The Heart lies at the centre of our being, where Mind and Body meet. The way of Love welcomes all paradoxes and polarities to unite.
Without the Mind, love is only animal desire; without the Body, love is cold and unfeeling; without community, love dies. To quote the Gospel of Thomas:
”When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside... and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same... then you shall enter the kingdom.”
The Heart reminds us that love is not something we must earn, but the very essence from which we are born. When it opens, “All is One” ceases to be a thought and becomes a felt reality. Social friction and suspicion decreases, as we step into genuine connection based on trust – the natural result of experiencing the other as self.
The centrality of the Heart is expressed in all world cultures. It unites us as a species. On the surface, it’s obvious, but it can be difficult to live out as a reality. Yoga Church aims to be a training ground and a garden where we can bring heaven to earth, and live together in love.

In Yoga Church, we express and honour Heart by:

  • Nurturing authentic relationships based on presence and trust.
  • Cultivating the inner union of Mind and Body through love.
  • Co-creating a community that encourages altruistic action.
Our model, our invitation
What is our goal – and how will we achieve it?

Yoga Church seeks to be a curated and co-created platform where teachers, guides and practitioners from all traditions can share their wisdom and service. Like a chain of yoga studios with a greater emphasis on community, co-creation and diversity, we will offer:

  • Free and affordable yoga, meditation and embodiment classes
  • Community gatherings, discussion groups and both online and offline outreach
  • Retreat and trainings – maybe even certifications and ordination
  • Much, much more! Book clubs? Festivals? Guru AI? This is a living co-creation

Our first physical location will grow within O Village: a real-life community where our vision can take root through shared living, daily practice, and grounded experimentation. This is where we shape the culture, refine the model, and build a strong, committed core.

Our second milestone will be Oslo Yoga Church. From there, we envision of a decentralised network of Yoga Churches: each one rooted in local culture and united by a global vision. The structure will remain light, flexible and resilient – adaptable to local needs, yet grounded in core values and ongoing gatherings.

A new way forward

Yoga Church is for those who want to go deep without being confined. For those who long for connection without sacrificing freedom. For those ready to heal the body, awaken the mind, and open the heart.
This is not a religion. It is a living culture of practice. Not a fixed doctrine, but a growing field.
we are here to practice,to play, to live the sacred
If you feel called to this vision – whether as a supporter, a participant, or a partner –let’s create the spiritual community of the future. Together.
